Finding Success (and Failure) in Haskell is now available in a print edition from Lulu. Due to the upfront printing costs and storage costs related to traditional printing, we’ve decided to go with print-on-demand, and we’re happy with the results.
We are working on editing the web servers book, Sockets and Pipes, and preparing it for publication next.
We are so happy to be sponsoring Zurihac this year. Zurihac is a wonderful conference and hackathon – not a competitive hackathon, more like a mutual learning and support hackathon. We’ve both attended Zurihac previously, and last year Julie taught a six-hour beginner Haskell course.
Unfortunately this year, for personal reasons, we are unable to attend, but we wanted to make sure the beginner class continued, so we asked our friend Ryan Moore to teach it, and they kindly agreed. We are sending some Joy of Haskell goodies to Zurich with them. Ryan will be bringing Joy of Haskell stickers, some of our Introduction to GHC Extensions pamphlets, and will also have the solemn duty of handing out free print copies of Finding Success to 10 people attending the beginner class.
For those who do not win a free copy, we will be releasing a coupon code for Zurihac attendees to buy the book at a discounted rate.
